IB DP Geography students face two significant writing challenges: the mandatory 2500-word Internal Assessment and the 4000-word Extended Essay, which they may choose to write in Geography. Success in these tasks requires more than just geographical knowledge: students need sophisticated research and writing skills that many have not yet developed.
This workshop focuses on the crucial early stages where teachers can make the biggest impact. Richard and Matt guide you through supporting students in crafting compelling research questions, structuring substantial pieces of writing, and maintaining momentum throughout lengthy projects.
Discover proven strategies for scaffolding the research process, managing student stress, and ensuring academic rigour while promoting well-being. Whether your students are tackling their first major fieldwork report or embarking on independent research, you will leave with practical tools to guide them towardsimpactful, successful outcomes.
