Draft: pending legal review.
Who we are
This site is operated by geographyalltheway SASU, a French simplified joint-stock company registered in France, in partnership with Matt Podbury. We refer to ourselves throughout this notice as “we”, “us”, and “IGT”.
What we collect
We collect only the data we need to deliver the workshops you book and to run the website:
- Booking data:name, email, billing address, and, where supplied, your school’s name, VAT identifier, and purchase-order number. Provided by you at checkout.
- Payment data: handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
- Site analytics: aggregated, anonymous usage metrics (pages viewed, country, referrer) via Vercel Analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiling.
- Correspondence: emails you send us and our replies, retained as long as needed to provide support.
Why we collect it
- To take and confirm your booking, and to invoice you correctly.
- To send the joining link, pre-reading, and post-workshop resources.
- To arrange the optional 30-minute one-to-one.
- To meet our French and EU legal obligations (invoicing, VAT, accounting).
- To understand which pages and workshops are working, in aggregate.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with sub-processors strictly necessary to run the service:
- Vercel: hosting and analytics (United States, EU data residency where applicable).
- Stripe: payment processing and invoicing (Ireland / United States).
- Google Workspace: email correspondence and Google Meet for workshop delivery.
- Supabase: booking and seat records (planned, EU region).
- Resend or Postmark: transactional email delivery (planned).
We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for any third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
Booking and invoicing records are retained for ten years to meet French accounting and tax law. Email correspondence is kept for as long as the relationship is active. Aggregate analytics are retained for up to twenty-four months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, email richard@geographyalltheway.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
