FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Practical answers about the workshops, bookings, and the one-to-one sessions. Still stuck? Drop us a line at the bottom of the page.
- What platform are the workshops run on?
- Google Meet. You’ll receive the joining link by email in the week before the workshop, alongside any pre-reading.
- What tech do I need to join?
- A laptop or desktop with a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and a working microphone is plenty. Camera is encouraged but not required. We don’t use polling apps or paid tools, so no extra downloads. Tablets work but workshops are more comfortable on a real keyboard.
- I’m in Asia or Australasia; isn’t 10h00 CET very late for me?
- It is. 10h00 CET is around 17h00 in Singapore, 18h00 in Hong Kong, 19h00 in eastern Australia, 20h00 in New Zealand. Many attendees in those time zones join from home in the early evening; each workshop page on the site shows local times for Singapore, New Delhi, and Sydney as a reference. If the time genuinely doesn’t work for you, the session resources are still yours and you can use your one-to-one to cover the material with Richard or Matt.
- Will the sessions be recorded?
- No. The workshops are live only. The session resources (slides, links, exemplars) are shared with every attendee afterwards.
- Can I count this toward my CPD hours?
- Yes. Each workshop is three hours of CPD (two 90-minute sessions), plus a 30-minute one-to-one. Ask us by email and we’ll send a certificate of attendance for your school records.
- What is the refund and cancellation policy?
- Refunds are available if you give us at least four weeks’ notice before the workshop. Inside four weeks, we can usually transfer your booking to another workshop in the season; get in touch and we’ll work it out.
- Can I send a colleague in my place if I can’t attend?
- Yes, with at least 48 hours’ notice before the workshop starts. Email us with the substitute’s name and email and we’ll send them the joining link.
- How does the 30-minute one-to-one work?
- You get one 30-minute one-to-one for every workshop you attend. After the session, email Richard or Matt and we’ll find a time that works for both of you. The one-to-one should happen within four weeks of the workshop.
- Are these official IB or Cambridge workshops?
- No. These are independent workshops run by Richard and Matt. They are not endorsed by or affiliated with the IB or Cambridge International Education.
- Can you invoice my school directly?
- Yes. geographyalltheway SASU invoices each booking; your school’s PO number and VAT ID can be added to the invoice at checkout.
- How do I pay?
- Card or bank transfer. Once you’ve registered, geographyalltheway SASU sends an invoice with payment details. EU VAT is included where required; schools outside the EU are not charged VAT.
